RULES FOR DRESSING FORMAL
14:33Many will argue the ability of this blog to dictate good style and same way this blog will argue what they percieve as good style.
Most of the posts on this blog are derived from Personal taste, common sense, classic rules of men dress and Tradition.
Here are some rules we consider important when dressing formal as a man.
1. Under no circumstance should your underwear be visible.
2. Always match the color of your socks with the color of your pants. If not socks can be matched to something worn above the waist such as a shirt, tie, pocket square or suspenders.
3. If your pants don't have belt loops they should have side tabs or buttons for use with suspenders.
4. Always wear a jacket whenever you're wearing double cuff shirts.
5. A black tie(semi formal) event doesn't mean a long neck-tie event don't ever wear a long neck-tie to one.
6. Always iron the collar of a shirt before wearing it.
7. Make use of a pocket square when wearing a jacket.
8. Never carry a backpack when wearing a suit, it defeats the purpose.
9. Never use the last button of a two or three jacket suit.
10. Never wear a sport accessory with a formal wear it's wrong.
11. It is better to be overdressed than to be underdressed.
12. You dont need an excuse to wear a tie or jacket.Despite the fact that in today’s society it seems you need one.
2 Judgements
I strongly believe fashion is greatly suited to individual opinions and also determined by age, environment and seasons, I have a problem with the word "never". I also don't agree with your 4th statement Sir.
